Week 1 Botanical Illustration I: Basic Drawing Techniques



This week we had to do a series of basic observational drawings, then scan them for submission. The first one I did was of a radish out of my garden. It definitely was overgrown, but good for a drawing subject.












These drawings were called Blind Contour Drawings. When you draw them you only look at your subject not at your paper. That is why these drawings look so strange.
