Christmas in August

Doesn't matter how old I am, as an artist buying art magazines or new art supplies is still exciting; like when I was a kid at Christmas time.  Just ask my mother how I would act every time we went to the grocery store.  I would whine, and bug my poor mother until she would relent and buy me either the newest box of Crayola crayons or a new coloring book; never mind  I had plenty at home that were just fine.

Today is no different.  I just got my new issue of "American Artist Drawing" magazine.

Along with an email from my Professor of my Figure Drawing this Fall with a supply list and Art Supply Warehouse coupons for my online shopping.

I am one happy artist now, but even happier when the supplies I placed in my online shopping cart arrive. :) and my supply list from my Ceramics Prof.

What are some of your favorite art supplies, books or magazines that bring a smile to your day in the Comment section?

HELPFUL TIP:  Buying art supplies whether you are a student or not is expensive.  I have always found shopping online especially at the end of August can save you lots of $$$$.  Also be sure to sign up for your fav online art supplier's email savings.  My fav is ASWexpress.com.  I save anywhere between 50-85% on my art supplies with their back to school sales and money saving codes to add to my cart before checking out.

Until Next Time.
Blessings,
Laurie

  1. I know what you mean. When I went to the gun stores with my father I would always want a new gun or knife.

  3. Oh man, I got excited to think there was a regular magazine just about drawing - but it looks like this was just special issue for American Artist, ha ha. Keep drawing!
